Barnes Convalescent Hospital, Cheadle

A £26,000 donation in 1869 by Robert Barnes, led to the building of this hospital. In the later years, it was used primarily for geriatric care and stroke victims. Now it is owned by a real estate company who had intentions of turning the building into luxury apartments when they bought it in 2001. For the last 10 years, it has turned into a shadow of the building it used to be - now just a shell.
